The Emerald Arch Storybook Greenhouse is one of the most fantastical pieces I have ever made. The Arch is adorned with “fungus” cups with drainage. The center is a planter where water can be poured for self watering. The small shallow vessels perfectly suited for shallow rooted plants like pinguiculas, or baby cuttings/plant propagations. The glass cloche provides humidity for sustained moisture and to encourage root growth. Depending on your local temperature/climate and amount of water inside, you can keep the glass on or off—use your own discretion. Place under a grow light for more controlled lighting or next to a windowsill with morning/late sun when the rays are slanted. The plants will grow into the piece, and eventually out of the piece— in which case, remove the overgrown plants and replace with new smaller ones for an everchanging fantastical scene that you can enjoy for a lifetime.
Directions: layer bottom of fungus cups with sphagnum moss and top with low nutrient substrate like vermiculite. use a squeezable water bottle with narrow tip to water carefully around the pings, being careful not to displace the substrate.
